It's 3 am now in Los Angeles and I just woke up from my sleep.

WTF.

Supposed to sleep till 0830 hrs.

Wide Awake now.

Jetlagged.

Argh.

Went to The newly opened Cheesecake Factory near my hotel for lunch with Adeline, Sheila and Matt right after we checked into the hotel.

Tired.

'Stoned'.

Shagged.

Still, we walked all the way from our hotel to the restaurant which was about 15 minutes away. The weather was surprisingly good. Sunny yet cooling. Checked the weather forecast on the newspapers a few days before I came to LA and something shocked me - min : 18 degree celsius & max : 39 degree celsius...isn't that suppose to happen in Dubai ??? 39...Oh gosh !!!! That really made me drag coming to the already boring LA. Was thinking if the weather is really that hot, I think I would hibernate in my room enjoying the aircon and channel surfing :D

Back to the Cheesecake Factory...the 15 min walk proved to be worthwhile despite us behaving like zombies 'hopping' aimlessly on the streets in Anaheim scaring the wits of others. The food was simply out of this World...Shiok !!!

The Company :

The bread from Cheesecake factory ...

is really yummy...just eat it on its own can make you ask for more.

Appetizer :

Prawn fritters...same as the one I had with LL a couple of months ago in Frisco.

Our Mains ...

My maincourse : Chicken Madeira... Recommended by many and I am enjoying every bite of it... GREAT !!!

Matt's Kobe Beef burger... Looks Shiok isn't it.

And Sheila ordered the Pork Chop which looked like Lamb Shank to me...wahahah...but the meat is well marinated and tender...Really good.

One word of advice : Their portions are really big and so it's better to share unless you are really very hungry and can swallow a cow eh. Don't waste food ah...

To end on a sweet note...

A visit to the Cheesecake Factory is not complete without a slice of their famous cheesecake.

Instead of always having the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake, I decided to try a new flavour this time - Oreo Chocolate Mudslide Cheesecake. Speaking of which, I just finished half of it and it's real delicious. Gotta finish it soon as I have no fridge in my room !!! So unfair as the others have one in their own rooms. Were looking high and low for that little black box but to no avail. What the.... Haiz...Just my luck I guess :(

Was out with LL and Darrian a day before I am due to go LA.

Enjoying our Ice Kimo outside Eastpoint.

Just to let you guys judge...LL looks better with this hairstyle compared to her always 'dry blown pom pom' hair right. At least, she looks younger this way than that well...erm...volume frizzy hair.

Caught the movie 'Shaolin Girl' and it's really very disappointing. So boring and the storyline really sucks. Nearly slept during the show. Thought it's a comedy as well, I was wrong afterall. I don't find myself laughing...maybe I was immuned to its lame jokes. Waste of time n money.

Oh yes, I managed to change to the Hong Kong Dollars at a very good rate for my upcoming HK Shopping Spree. As I did change a lot, so I managed to save quite a bit :D. Part of GSS eh...haha.

Bought this that night and this is what I call

Heaven

Heard that HK just experienced a typhoon and weather wasn't looking good for the next few days. Sianz...hopefully it won't affect my HK trip next week...*Praying hard*

Heading to Knotts Berry Farm later with the Company...Though it wasn't part of my plans for LA this time, I guess I will enjoy the themepark with these wonderful people. Santa Monica and Hollywood shall be on my next trip to-go list :D

Time to take a nap before I be out the whole day...will update you guys soon.

And so I was not activated afterall :D

Something INTERESTING regarding Toilet signage from around the World...

Ensure that you do not enter the wrong toilet...unless you are really that INNOCENT and GULLIBLE...hahahaha.

HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY

TO

OUR

19/01

JUNE BABIES

June Babies : Link, WW, TK

Celebration @ HK Cafe in Novena

11 of us...one of the rare occassions when almost half of the class turned up. A pity that both David & XY could not make it at the last minute.

After much 'discussion' with the other 2 June babies, WS finally decided to 'volunteer' to cut the cake.

What's everyone laughing at ? Apparently on Hoo's remark...

Enjoyed the dinner with such a wonderful company.

I really hate to be on standby. Now I really don't know if I will be activated later. It's alright to get activated but it's definitely a no no when they activate you at the very very last minute. Then you gotta rush like there's no tomorrow. Fortunately, I have more or less finish packing my bag...just in case. Haiz.

Just some random whinings ....

- Was in Sydney a couple of days ago. Was buying a train ticket from Town Hall to Central station from the ticket vending machine when something embarrassing happened to me. Maybe not that embarrassing to some but at least I felt paiseh and sorry. Alright, the ticket cost a whopping A$ 2.60 ( approx. S$ 3.50 ) for just a stop away. Since I have load of coins with me, I decided to randomly picked some n put them into the slot. Just as I was short of A$0.10 before completing the transaction, the screen displayed : " Maximum 10 coins " and the slot was shut. TMD...I was so close yet so far...just 1 coin short and I have to cancel the transaction and redo everything again. By the time I completed the transaction, a long queue have already formed behind me. Malu sia. What kind of stupid rule is that...Maximum 10 coins... they are still money afterall... WTF.

- Sometimes I just don't understand why the toilet flush at the airport is so damn sensitive. As such, it's so irritating and getting on my nerves. While clearing your bowels, any slight movement would trigger the sensor to flush the toilet bowl. As such, sitting on the toilet bowl for just 5 minutes may result in the toilet being flushed about 3 times. Not only it will make ur ass wet, it's a waste of water and energy. Irritating unless you can sit STILL and I mean really STILL as if you are a mannequin.

- Last but not the least, I hate the new bus model that now take me to my workplace. No doubt spacious and handicapped friendly but lack of privacy. Sian.

Guess what I did the next day in Paris ?

Nope, I did not go Eiffel Tower nor did I picnic at its foot.

Nope, I did not manage to meet up with Jac for she was too tired after she arrived in Paris plus the fact that she is going to watch Moulin Rouge that very evening.

Nope, I did not have a good rest the night before as I slept late plus I was awoken twice by Jac's call...wahahahah...but I can't blame her for I was the one who asked her to call me when she arrived.

And so what did I do then ?

Well, together with Charmaine and Grace, we went fine dining in one of the restaurants near our hotel before we made our way to Sacre-Coeur.

Fine Dining @ chez Clement

Grace & I outside chef Clement...a very Parisian type of restaurant.

The 3 of us before we started tucking in.

What we ordered from the menu...

Hors d'oeuvre : Smoke Salmon

Entrees :

Duck Delight : Drumstick, chunk of duck meat and a duck sausage accompanied by their home made mash potato and sauce.

This dish was really delicious. When the waiter who took our order asked us how we would like the duck to be done, the 3 of us looked at each other and were thinking what he meant. Cos we did not know that duck could be medium rare as well. So in the end, he made the decision for us...in a way that the duck is not too well done n not bloody. The duck meat turned out to be very very tender and juicy. Shiok!

Meat Basket : Chicken, Pork and Duck accompanied by a basket of fries. Delicious as well :P

Dessert : Creme Brulee ( Sorry, no photo as I forgot to take one )

So we ate and chatted till evening...spent about 4 hours in the restaurant ( really fine dining eh ) before we decided that its late and its time to go somewhere else for a stroll to aid in our digestion.
After much discussion, we decided to head to Montmatre area as both Charmain and Grace have not been there before.

Moulin Rouge : Long queue was forming outside the entrance and no, I did not manage to find Jac...wahahaha. Managed to see the price list...minimum 148 Euros ( approx. S$ 300 ) for the show plus dinner. However, Jac told me that she paid abt 90+ Euros ( approx S$ 200 ) for the show and champagne only. According to her, she enjoyed the show and felt that its very worth it.
Don't tempt me please :D

Sex shops lined both sides of the street.

N lots of souvenir shops as well.

I love this vintage car...beautiful.

Back to my Childhood days :D
Sacre-Coeur

The view of Paris from Sacre-Coeur - Marvellous, Breathtaking, Beautiful.

Since the 3 of us have nothing much to do up there, we decided to 'Zhi Pai' using the custom timer in my camera...one shot every 3 seconds.

The Outcome :

Priceless Funny Expressions

And that marked the end of my Paris trip. Though nothing adventurous or exciting, the company was great and they really made my stay enjoyable.

Will be back in Paris again this July.

This time will be different because I will be with my teammies....Looking forward to seeing them :D

GREETINGS FROM...

PARIS

Time Check : 2230 hrs ( and it's still not totally dark outside...its like 1930 hrs in SIN )

It has been more than 1.5 years since I last visited Paris. Well, nothing much has changed...Paris will still be Paris. Anyway, the weather was not as good as I thought it would be....gloomy with occasional showers. Argh.

Had a very late lunch at the Vietnamese joint near the hotel. The tomato fried rice with chicken which I ordered seemed ordinary but just one bite and it made me asking for more. It's really delicious. Guess it's not the hunger in me that made me feel this way as many people have been talking about it...especially Andrea...her favourite and must-have dish when she's in Paris. Now I understand why.

Walked all the way to Champs Elysees after our lunch.

Along Champs Elysees...

Managed to catch this band marching along the main road. I think some War Memorial Ceremony was taking place.

As it's a Saturday, it's crowded everywhere.

A colleague once told me that this McDonald's sign is the only one in the World that is White so as to be 'compatible' to the Arc de triomphe.

The famous Metro sign.

The LV Flagship store along Champs Elysees. It's so crowded inside. Was attracted to this white pair of leather shoes but I guess the price itself can only make me dream of owning it...wahahaha.

Recommended by Charmaine...this Banana Chocolate Crepe was damn nice...Shiokness.

Time to turn in.

Not sure if I will go sightseeing tomorrow...since I have been to most of the attractions before.

Not sure if I will get to meet Jac as she will be here tomorrow morning.

Not sure if I will get to dine and have a good cup of coffee and enjoy my people watching.

Not sure if I will go picnic-ing under Eiffel Tower.

It's a Sunday tomorrow...Guess everywhere will be crowded.

Maybe I should just have a good rest first before deciding what to do next.

Ciao.
