Yay...I am finally on leave and today marks Day 1 of my week long annual leave. Though I won't be heading abroad like what I did in the past, I will be spending most of my time at home and with my friends whom I have not met for a long time. Miss them loads...
Not sure why, I think I am addicted to Thai Food recently. First, I wanted to have my Thai style fried glass noodles with seafood the moment I checked in @ my hotel in San Francisco. Next, out of so many dishes to choose from (e.g. Hainanese Chicken Rice, Baked Pork Chop rice, Wanton Mee), I decided to go ahead with the Thai Green Curry Chicken with rice in one of the Char Chang Teng in Hong Kong. And then, when I was back in Singapore a couple of days ago, I dragged Lian Lian to Hougang Mall to have the Thai Ala carte Buffet @ Siam Kitchen. Guess what ? LL & I just made an appointment with each other a couple of minutes ago to have Thai food again next week. Wah lau...overdose of Thai Food but we were not sick of it...We simply love it...Delicious and SPICY!!!! Yes...Spicy...Shiok man.
LL & I after our Thai Food Buffet.
A snapshot of what we had @ the buffet...mind you...this is just a small portion of what we had that night....Drool :P
And we came across a mentally unsound man that night after our dinner. He kept shouting ' Huang Fei Hong, zheng tian yong jiao lai pian ren' ... meaning, Huang Fei Hong, you always use your legs and cheat people....oh well, he's not feeling right up there obviously. This incident scared LL out of her wits that she almost cried. Reason being, that guy was in the same lift as us when LL mentioned something about her legs in the above photo...shortly after...that guy started shouting his favourite phrase when we were out of the lift. We decided to walk faster and away from him...who knows, just as we thought we were away from him, he suddenly appeared behind us out of nowhere and started shouting his phrase again. In total, we met him 3 times !!! Freak. Poor LL...she couldn't sleep for the whole night, trembled in fear and cried.
Better post my San Francisco and Hong Kong photos before they 'expired'...
And so, as usual, we woke up damn early the next day for breakfast. Wait...not that we wanted to have breakfast soooo early in the morning...it's just that we couldn't help but woke up so early 'automatically' ( e.g. 4 am ? 5 am ?... depends on individual ). Well, cos all of us were jetlagged !!!
Decided to have breakfast at Sear's initially but changed our mind to Loris after we saw the long queue outside Sear's and that our stomach were all rambling.
Ordered the Loris' Special Omelette :
Well, the Omelette was so so but the fillings were great...bacon, mushrooms etc etc. The potato rostie that came with it was damn oily n soggy...Yucks. The raisin toast, however, tasted really great !
Took a stroll around the area and did abit of shopping after the breakfast...Ok, I guess I was the only person who bought something. The other two merely accompanied me...felt bad. As it was still early after my shopping, we decided to walk all the way to Fisherman's Wharf since Boot hasn't been there before and that we had no other plans.
Boot & I in front of Victoria's Secret....One of the gals' favourite shop!
After about 45 minutes of slow stroll from our Hotel area, we finally arrived Pier 39. Crowded.
Boot & I trying to lift the World !
The 3 of us...Boot, Kenji & I next to Pier 39.
Love this candid shot...they look cool, don't they ? Seem like some model posing...
The famous crab @ Pier 39
Damn Red, Sweet, Juicy and Fresh Strawberries...Tempting
These Cherries were really nice....But expensive...about US$10 for that small bag with less than 20 cherries?
Bidding Goodbye to Pier 39...Wanted to have late lunch @ Bubba Gump but the crowd turned us away. Gotta wait for almost an hour for a table...it's just soooo crowded. Decided to head back to Union Square to have our dinner @ The Cheesecake Factory instead.
One of the famous icon @ Fisherman's Wharf
Since all of us were stoned and exhausted, we decided to take the Cable Car back to Market Street. A nice & unique experience I must say.
Dinner @ The Cheesecake Factory...
Nice Colourful menu...waited for about half an hour before we got a table.
Ordered the Orange Chicken...Nice with a tangy taste. The serving was real huge...same goes for both Kenji's and Boot's who ordered the Spaghetti with fried chicken fillet and grilled chicken breast respectively. We all couldn't finish !!!
My Shopping Spree in San Francisco :
Hollister & Abercrombie....Well, this was only my buy for the first day. I bought more on the last day... more Hollister, Old Navy & American Eagle and spent above my budget :(...Ouch!
Love this Godiva Hot Cocoa Powder...it's only US$5....I saw a similar one in Hong Kong and it cost a whipping S$40 !!!! Imagine the amount I saved...:D
After spending 2 nights in San Francisco, it's time to head back to Hong Kong where we have another 2 nights....Shopping & Eating time !!!!!!!!!
Right after we checked in the hotel, the 6 of us decided to head to Chao Inn for our Dim Sum brunch !!!!
Chao Inn - A nice n posh restaurant specialising in Teochew style cuisine.
The super 'ON' us - Kenneth, Kenji, Boot, Yours truly & Celine !!! We dun look tired eh :D
Ordered quite a lot of dishes but decided to just post a few here to save space :P
This is one of my favourites...The Prawns wrapped in Beancurd skin...very crispy and nice.
Everyone's favourite dish...Steam Rice rolls with Pork ( Char Siew ) & Prawns :P
The XO Carrot Cake is delicious...A Must try.
Look Special eh....Bun with Glutinous Rice in it...Nice leh.
My Favourite dish @ Chao Inn ... Large Pig's Intestine...Damn chewy, tasty n spicy...Shiok!
In total, we ordered about 30 dishes and guess how much each of us paid ? Only HK$70 ( about S$ 13 ) per person. So damn affordable... especially when the ambience n location is good...we did have a good view of the harbour !
Went to Tang Cao twice and here's some of the food we had...
The dough fritter wrapped in Rice roll...special n unique plus its yummy.
This Sticky Date pudding don't look appetising at first but the first bite made me ask for more.
This is the worst dish...Crispy fried Chicken cos it so damn salty without even dipping the small plate of salt. Yuck!
I am seriously missing all the food I had in both Frisco & Hong Kong...How man? I wish I could have all the food again...Argh!!! What a glutton I am... Oh yes, I still miss my Hong Kong more.
Oh man, my bed is calling me ...Gotta do housework tomorrow plus tidy up my wardrobe...Too many clothes le...
